{"id":14919,"date":"2024-08-13T15:54:56","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T13:54:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transparency.mk\/?post_type=dt_portfolio&#038;p=14919"},"modified":"2025-08-12T08:25:36","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T06:25:36","slug":"fulfilling-the-promise-of-whistleblowing-defending-citizens-rights-and-curbing-corruption","status":"publish","type":"dt_portfolio","link":"https:\/\/transparency.mk\/en\/project\/fulfilling-the-promise-of-whistleblowing-defending-citizens-rights-and-curbing-corruption\/","title":{"rendered":"Fulfilling the Promise of Whistleblowing: Defending Citizens\u2019 Rights and Curbing Corruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Period of implementation: 01 April 2024 &#8211; 30 December 2024<\/p>\n<p>Donor: Supported by the Balkan Trust for Democracy, a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the USAID<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The project is implemented by the Center for the Study of Democracy and Governance in Albania, Fondacija Infohouse in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo Law Institute in Kosovo, Transparency International-Macedonia in North Macedonia, the Center for Development of Non-Governmental Organisations in Montenegro, and the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy in Serbia.<\/p>\n<p>This project will assess whistleblower protection systems in six countries of the region by tracking case outcomes, analyzing successful and failed ones, and publicizing and advocating for reforms and improvements.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the project is to strengthen whistleblowers&#8217; protection frameworks in the targeted countries and support the process of the alignment of the legal and institutional frameworks in these countries with the EU Whistleblowers Directive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Activities<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The activities will be <u>clustered under three categories<\/u>: <strong><u>research, dissemination and outreach<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>, capacity building<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity 1:<\/strong> Conduct research to produce reports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity 2.<\/strong> Organize focus group discussions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity 3.<\/strong> Editing, design, and layout of the research report<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity 4.<\/strong> Organize country conferences\/public event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity 5.<\/strong> Draft guide for whistleblower caseworkers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity 6<\/strong>.
