On September 12, 2024, Transparency International-Macedonia organized a focus group as part of the project \u201cFulfilling the Promise of Whistleblowing: Defending Citizens\u2019 Rights and combating Corruption.\u201d<\/strong> This project is funded by the Balkan Trust for Democracy, supported by The German Marshall Fund of the United States, and USAID \u2013 US Agency for the International development.<\/p>\n

The participants in the focus group provided a productive discussion and constructive proposals regarding the situation of whistleblower protection in national legislation. Recommendations and specific solutions for improving the situation were proposed, which will be included in the final report for the needs of the project.<\/p>\n

Transparency International Macedonia express gratitude to the participants in the focus group: Irena Popovska – appointed person for receiving reports from whistleblowers in the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption; Elena Dimovska, head of department in the Ministry of Justice; Vida Ko\u010dishka Popovska, person authorized to receive reports from whistleblowers at the Ombudsman; Sasho Merzhanoski, General Secretary of the Inspection Council and Blagoja Pandovski, lawyer and President of Transparency International- Macedonia.<\/p>\n
