The event was organized by the Center for Civil Communications (CCC).<\/p>\n<p>During the workshop, the \u201cAnalysis on the Use of Beneficial Ownership Data in the Fight Against Corruption in North Macedonia\u201d was presented, offering insight into how this data is currently used\u2014or underused\u2014for identifying and preventing corrupt practices.<\/p>\n<p>A notable contribution came from Maria Sunchevska, a representative of Transparency International &#8211; Macedonia, who presented findings from the report <strong>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/transparency.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/political_integrity_rules_assesment_in_north_macedonia_eng.pdf\">Political integrity rules assessment in North Macedonia<\/a>\u201d<\/strong>, prepared within the project <em>\u201cIntegrity Watch in the Western Balkans and Turkey: Civil society combating corruption with political integrity data\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The workshop included discussions on the openness of data related to asset declarations, political party financing and transparency, public procurement, and concession awards. It highlighted how such data can be leveraged to enhance political integrity and contribute to anti-corruption efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The event brought together members of the civil society sector, who exchanged experiences and ideas on how to improve access to open data, the legal reforms needed, and technical solutions that could facilitate the effective use of diverse open data sources to identify corruption risks.
