On June 5 and 6, 2024, in Struga was held a workshop on the resolutions adopted at the 10th UNCAC Conference of the States Parties, December 2023. This workshop was held in partnership with the projects: “EU4 Rule of Law: Citizen Engagement for Public Integrity (CEPI) in the Western Balkans and Turkey”, financially supported by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland and the Citizens Against Corruption program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development in the Republic of North Macedonia (USAID).
The aim of the workshop was to review the adopted resolutions within the framework of the CoSP held in Atlanta, USA in December 2023, the importance of the CoSP and the role of civil society organizations. During the meeting, the following resolutions were discussed:
– the Atlanta 2023 resolution: promoting integrity, accountability and transparency in the fight against corruption
– the resolution: Addressing the societal impacts of corruption
– the resolution: Promoting transparency and integrity in public procurement in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
– the resolution: Enhancing the use of beneficial ownership information to strengthen asset recovery
– the resolution: Protection of reporting persons.
The experts presented the mentioned resolutions, explaining its content.
The workshop was interactive and at the end of each presented resolution the participants shared their recommendations on how state institutions and civil society organizations should contribute to the implementation of the resolutions and improvement of the legal framework in the fight against corruption.
The recommendations have been prepared in written form and will be submitted to the relevant institutions and stakeholders.
