The 7th Political Integrity Bootcamp 2025 was held on 12–13 November 2025 in Warsaw, Poland. This year’s Bootcamp focused on the theme: “Safeguarding Democracy: Addressing Strategic Corruption and Advancing Political Integrity.” The overarching objective of the event was to provide a regional platform for dialogue and peer learning on the growing threat of strategic corruption to democratic governance, institutional resilience, and political integrity across the OSCE region. It aimed to equip civil society actors, oversight institutions, and international partners with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to more effectively monitor, expose, and respond to these challenges.
Building on the previous Bootcamp editions—particularly the 2021 focus on political integrity risk indicators and the 2024 emphasis on political finance and enforcement—the 2025 Bootcamp explored how strategic corruption systematically undermines democratic checks and balances, and how civic actors can detect and resist these processes. The event gathered Transparency International chapters, OSCE Field Offices, oversight bodies, international organisations, and independent experts for a two-day in-person programme. Through interactive sessions, case-based analysis, and tool-oriented workshops, the Bootcamp concentrated on strengthening institutional safeguards and early-warning capabilities.
TI-Macedonia member Marija Sunchevska participated in the event, where she had the opportunity to engage with professionals from diverse backgrounds and work closely on issues related to political integrity. Marija presented detailed insights on political financing in Macedonia, including the reporting system, political risks, donations, and more. The Bootcamp served as an excellent opportunity not only for exchanging experiences and good practices, but also for networking, developing new project ideas and connecting with organisations from around the world.
