As part of the two-day activities of the Platform of Civil Society Organizations for Fight against Corruption, the Integrity Watch Platform—developed by Transparency International – Macedonia within the project “Integrity Watch in the Western Balkans and Turkey: Civil society combating corruption with political integrity data” financially supported by the European Union and the regional project SMART Balkans – “Civil Society for Shared Society in the Western Balkans” funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway—was presented and tested.
The Integrity Watch platform for North Macedonia is an open-data platform that enables citizens to explore how money and power intersect in public decision-making processes. Developed by Transparency International – Macedonia, the platform brings together key datasets on political party financing, public procurement, and the exploitation of mineral resources and hydropower plants—three areas highly vulnerable to corruption and abuse of public office.
The platform allows citizens, journalists, researchers, and policymakers to see:
- how political parties are financed, including the sources of donations from individuals and private entities;
- how public money is spent, that is, who receives public contracts and concessions.
Participants in the workshop had the opportunity to test the platform, explore its functionalities and capabilities, filter and cross-reference the data. The initial impressions were positive and comments and recommendations for improving the platform’s functionalities were shared. Work on the platform will continue until its public launch on 9 December 2025.
