02.06.2015 The Association “Transparency International-Macedonia” denies the allegations published in the daily newspaper Dnevnik, in the article entitled “The Netherlands is supporting, Taseva requires amnesty for Zaev and Verusevski?” signed by the journalists Lepa Georgievska and Katerina Neshkova, published in the online edition on 01.06.2015 and in the print edition of 06.02.2015 year.
We deny that the Association Transparency International Macedonia is working on projects funded by the Foundation “Open Society Macedonia”, better known to the public as “Soros”. The association has never applied, nor received a grant from this foundation. We denie that the campaign for whistleblowers started in order to protect certain individuals in Macedonian politics and that is associated with the court decision on the case “Putsch”. The campaign is implemented within the project “Advocacy and Protection of the Whistleblowers, including the media and civil society” which started on 15.11.2014, a few months before the first publication of the wiretapped calls.
Due to the falseness of the allegations made in this article, TI-Macedonia will submit Request for an apology and publicly withdrawal of the published text and complaint for defamation.
Meanwhile Transparency International Macedonia undertook several activities related to this project, including:
• Drafting of analysis of the Law for prevention of corruption from the aspect of the whistleblowers in the country;
• Publication of four inestigative stories
• The Agency “Rating” conducted a survey on the perception of the citizens about the ethical, immoral and illegal behavior in companies and institutions
.
• Part of the results of the research titled “Weak protection and fear from consequences for the whistleblowers” were published in the newspapers Focus, Sloboden pecat and Koha.
• On three locations in Skopje were placed billboards titled “PROTECTION FOR THE WHISTLEBLOWERS”.
• On 29/04/2015 year, TI-Macedonia held a workshop under the topic “Protection of the whistleblowers through the institutional system in Macedonia.”
