TI-Macedonia representative Marija Suncevska was part of a delegation consisted form NGOs from Western Balkans and organized by TI-EU and TI- Secretariat to Brussels. The meetings were held between 25th and 27th of March.
The first meeting was held in the offices of TI-EU. The purpose of this presentation was to provide representatives of Member States working on enlargement and your countries with an overview of the key challenges and priorities. The presentations and discussions focused on the current situation in the respective countries, emphasizing the most pressing issues within the fundamentals cluster of the Enlargement process (Rule of law, Judiciary independence, Fundamental rights, public procurement, functioning of democratic institutions). The audience was consisted of representatives of Member States working on enlargement in the respective countries with an overview of the key challenges and priorities. COELA representatives are responsible for the enlargement process and relations with candidate countries conducting accession negotiations with the EU. On the event there was a fruitful discussion on the enragement process, the key challenges within the country, cooperation and further actions related to enlargement.
On the second day was held joint event with the Intergroup on anticorruption in the European parliament. The purpose of this meeting was to provide Policy-makers at the European Parliament with an overview of the key challenges in specific fields in the respective countries.
On the last day was held a meeting with representatives of DG ENEST covering North Macedonia and Albania. On the meeting was discussed the current situation, rule of law, anticorruption efforts and insights form the CSOs for the next reporting period.
