Transparency International-Macedonia (TI-M) and the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), on April 27, at the premises of the SCPC, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the aim of advancing joint activities in the field of corruption prevention, strengthening institutional integrity, transparency, and accountability.
The Memorandum was signed by the President of the SCPC, Adem Chuchulj, and the President of Transparency International – Macedonia, Blagoja Pandovski.
By signing the Memorandum, a framework is established for deeper cooperation between the two institutions through the exchange of information and mechanisms for regular communication, joint participation in projects, trainings, conferences, forums, and other forms of sharing knowledge, experience, and best practices. The cooperation will also include the preparation of analyses, recommendations, and initiatives aimed at improving integrity and professional standards in the anti-corruption system.
Within the framework of the Memorandum, the SPCP and TI-M will also cooperate in supporting the implementation of the Law on Whistleblower Protection, the Law on Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest, as well as other laws relevant to the fight against corruption and the rule of law.
The President of Transparency International – Macedonia, Blagoja Pandovski, highlighted the importance of a joint approach in identifying and addressing corruption risks, as well as the need for continuous exchange of experience, support, and expertise in this area.
The President of the SCPC, Adem Chuchulj, emphasized that cooperation with the civil sector is of particular importance for improving preventive mechanisms, strengthening public trust, and building a more efficient system for preventing corruption.
The signing of the Memorandum represents another step toward strengthening the partnership between institutions and civil society organizations in the direction of more effective corruption prevention, improving the rule of law, and promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, and transparency.
