The President of Transparency International – Macedonia, Blagoja Pandovski, moderated the panel discussion “Corruption Prevention and the Role of Anti-Corruption Bodies,” held as part of the Regional Conference on Corruption Prevention and Corruption Risk Assessment.
The conference was co-organized by Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and the State Audit Office, while the panel discussion brought together directors, presidents, and senior representatives of anti-corruption institutions and commissions from the Western Balkan countries.
The discussion served as an important regional platform for exchanging experiences and institutional practices in the field of corruption prevention, with a particular focus on institutional integrity, the assessment and management of corruption risks, inter-institutional coordination, and regional cooperation.
As moderator, Blagoja Pandovska steered the discussion toward the concrete challenges faced by anti-corruption institutions in the region, as well as the need for preventive mechanisms to be based on the genuine identification of risks and the timely implementation of concrete measures.
Particular emphasis was placed on effective coordination and information sharing among anti-corruption institutions, audit bodies, prosecutors’ offices, the police, and other relevant institutions, as a prerequisite for a more effective system of corruption prevention and combating corruption.
The participation of the President of Transparency International – Macedonia as moderator of the panel represents another confirmation of the organization’s active role in the regional anti-corruption dialogue and its commitment to advancing transparency, institutional integrity, accountability, and corruption prevention.
Transparency International – Macedonia continues to contribute to the development of stronger anti-corruption mechanisms and to deepening institutional and regional cooperation in the fight against corruption.
