Goal

The goal of the core grant is to establish a system of good governance for effective prevention to fight corruption and a society that has zero tolerance for corruption.

Activities

This goal will be achieved through activities that will contribute to improving the fight against corruption. The Advocacy and Legal Advice Center, through reports from citizens, will contribute to strengthening the capacities of citizens to recognize what corruption is and to report it. Through these reports, legal and institutional risks of corruption will be detected. The analysis of the legal framework aims to detect the risks of corruption and provide solutions to overcome them. The risks of corruption in the field of environment will be detected through this center. The team will also actively work on improving the practical application of the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers.

Databases that will contribute to the fight against corruption will be developed. Databases will be created with data on political funding, public procurement and concessions awarded for exploration of mineral goods. Through these databases, an improved ability to detect and prevent risks of political corruption is expected using open data among state authorities, civil society and the media.

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries both organizationally and of the project are Macedonian institutions, citizens, civil society organizations, the media and all relevant stakeholders in the fight against corruption.
