The Integrity Watch North Macedonia Platform https://integritywatch.mk/ , officially launched in December 2025, has now been updated with 2025 data. Integrity Watch North Macedonia is an open-data platform that enables citizens to explore how money and power intersect in public decision-making processes. Developed by Transparency International – Macedonia, the platform brings together key datasets on political party financing, public procurement and concessions for the exploitation of mineral resources and the construction of small hydropower plants—three areas that are particularly vulnerable to corruption and abuse of public office. When the platform was first launched, it contained data covering the 2021–2024 period. With this latest update, all three thematic datasets have been expanded to include 2025 data, providing users with a more comprehensive and up-to-date overview.
Political Party Financing
Under the law, political parties are entitled to receive funding from the state budget to support their regular activities. Additional sources of party financing include private donations and membership fees. The platform now provides information on funds received from the state budget, membership fees and private donations for the regular activities of political parties through 2025. The Donations section has also been updated with all donations received by political parties during 2025.
Public Procurement – Where Do Your Tax Payments Go?
Public institutions in North Macedonia spend hundreds of millions of euros each year through public procurement procedures. However, due to the volume and complexity of procurement data, it is often difficult for citizens to understand who wins these contracts and under what circumstances. The platform visualizes public procurement contracts from 2021 onwards, and with this update, the data is now available through 2025. Users can identify which companies repeatedly win public contracts, the value of those contracts, which institutions award them, and explore risk indicators highlighting potential links between political party donors and companies awarded public procurement contracts.
Mineral Resources and Small Hydropower Plants – Who Exploits Our Natural Resources?
Open data and transparent access to information on concession awards are essential for informing citizens and other stakeholders about the management of the country’s natural resources. Greater transparency in this area is particularly important given the economic and environmental impacts of decisions related to concessions. Although data provided by competent institutions remains limited, the platform significantly improves public access to information and enables more effective monitoring and analysis. With this update, the dataset on concessions for the exploitation of mineral resources and the construction of small hydropower plants has also been expanded to include 2025 data.
